Gletscherhorn (Rottal)

The peak dominates in the North-West the Rottal vallee. Its access is difficult of everywhere. It is the highest peak in the chain between Lötschenpass and Lauitor. This peak finishes the enormous ice wall which extends from the Wetterlücke until Gletscherhorn. To climb it with the skis, the north-eastern ridge and the west-south-west ridge are the easiest way up, the skis must nevertheless be deposited in Gletscherjoch resp. in Lauitor. Only for experienced skier-mountaineers.
