Education Avalanche Course Basics: Elements of snow and avalanches for freerider with ski or snowboard (1 day)One-day familiarization on snow and avalanches. Highlight You are beginer? After this one day compact course, you are able to contribute to the reflexion during planning and the preparation of freeride tours. You do not realize yet freeride tours in an independent way. In this course, you learn the basics of rescue in the event of avalanche. Description: Contents and objectives of course
• To know some rules of approximate evaluation of the danger of avalanche
• To include/understand the significance of the avalanche report and the declivity
• To know the adequate behavior for the reduction of the risk of avalanche
• Knowledge of the safety material and the rescue with the avalanche victim detector in the event of accident
The objective of the course is to learn how to avoid the frequent errors and to adapt its behavior on ski touring or on freeride tours. After this course, you have a good outline of complexity as regards avalanche.
Requirements
No preliminary knowledge in avalanche. Some basic knowledge in ski touring or snowboard/snowshoeing. Age min 16 years. You took already part in ski touring tours or freeride tours and have your own material.
Destination
In Switzerland: according to the conditions of snow in Villars, Diablerets or Gd St-Bernard. Included in the price: Training through certified Mountain Guide and instruction documents. Avalanche equipment can be rented on our office (backpack, avalanche burying detecting device, avalanche shovel, avalanche probe). Gear: See the gear list Miscellaneous: ith the registration, you obtain a password which enables you to inform yourselves on the possible last minutes modifications and the list of the participants registered to facilitate transport. You can take part in this course with ski or snowboard!
