Gorges du Todra - Maroc La vallée de Todra ou vallée de Toudgha à Tinghir, à 120 km de Ouarzazate au nord-est, s'étend tout au long de l'oued du même nom sur une cinquantaine de kilomètres formant ainsi une oasis aux couleurs enchanteresques. L'oued prend sa source au pied du Haut Atlas pour se perdre dans le désert du Sahara. Elle est très fréquentée pour ses gorges de Toudgha aux parois pouvant atteindre 300 mètres de haut par des grimpeurs venant de partout dans le monde mais surtout européens. Weissmies 4023m The Weissmies (4,023 m) is a mountain in the Pennine Alps in Switzerland near the village of Saas-Fee. It was first climbed by Jakob Christian Häusser and Peter Josef Zurbriggen in 1855 via the Triftgrat. The ascent was mired in some controversy as the local guides did not believe that the peak could be ascended without their help; when they themselves ascended to the summit by following Häusser and Zurbriggen's footprints, they found that the highest point had indeed been reached. The approach to the Trift Glacier/south-west ridge (Triftgrat) route can now be made via lift to Hohsaas, which is located virtually at the edge of the glacier. The ascent from Hohsaas takes about 4 hours and involves slopes to 40 degrees and crevasses.
Eiger 3970m The Eiger is a mountain in the Alps of Switzerland. It is the easternmost peak of a ridge-crest that extends to the Mönch (4,099 m) and across the Jungfraujoch to the Jungfrau (4,158 m). The peak is mentioned in records dating back to the 13th century but there is no clear indication of how exactly the peak gained its name. The three mountains of the ridge are sometimes referred to as the Virgin (German: Jungfrau, lit. "Young Woman" - roughly translates to "Virgin" or "Maiden"), the Monk (Mönch) and the Ogre (Eiger). The name has been linked to the Greek term akros, meaning "sharp" or "pointed", but more commonly to the German eigen, meaning "characteristic".
Ama Dablam - Nepal L'Ama Dablam, d'une altitude plutôt modeste, 6812 m, comparée aux sommets qui l'entourent, reste difficile d'accès. La voie "classique" est située sur l'arête Sud-Ouest. C'est Sir Edmund Hillary, le vainqueur de l'Everest, qui en effectue la première ascension en 1961.
